Volunteer Work

In order to join us as a volunteer worker you may be 18 years old or older and most definitely be willing to participate with all that is necessary. The main idea of our Volunteer Work Program is to offer you the opportunity to help and get involved with all the different work activities the Reserve offers.
As a volunteer worker you will be able to participate in the following areas:

  • Weed clearing land work
  • Sowing
  • Plantation maintenance and care
  • Harvesting
  • “Choro” monkey, “cock on the rocks” bird, etc.
  • Opening paths for animals monitoring
  • Keeping records of observation data
  • Camera trap positioning and maintenance
  • Animal identification classified by species accordingly
  • Comparative observation of insects
  • Data records
  • Insects identification according to their species
  • Plants collection
  • Data records
  • Plants Identification
  • Garden beds construction
  • Seedbeds preparation
  • Maintenance
  • Compost elaboration
  • Construction and maintenance
  • Planting new plant species
  • Identifying and elaborating a record of the plants
  • Construction and Enlargement of the lodge
  • Constructions of stools, tables, trash bins, rustic seats for the resting areas and others
  • Improvements of the trails: stairs on steep parts, bridges, etc.
  • Environmental education workshops in schools and communities in general located close to Tierra Linda
  • Informative documentaries about fauna and flora of the plac
  • Workshops, lectures and forums for discussion about Entomology and Botany

Research

Tierra Linda makes use of the help and participation of biologists, botanists, entomologists and professionals related to the study of the Environment and nature, all willing to work in different activities offered in the work areas, as well as those interested in the sustainability and conservation of the Environment.

The age of the researcher will not be important, yet they must specify their profession and their field of study. We only ask you to bring your own specialized material and contribute with your findings during your research work in Tierra Linda.

Tourism

In Tierra Linda, we also offer the option to organize well guided tours for one week long within the cultural zone of El Manu, where you will be able to observe and enjoy the beautiful wild sceneries and experience closely the fauna and flora.
